There is Worpress (which is probably the most popular), Blogger, TypePad, and Tumblr (mainly for very short, mobile blogging). All of these services are free and they give you all the tools you need to get started. You don’t even need to download anything because these sites will host your blog for you. All you need to get started is a username and password.

Once you’ve created the blog, you’ll have to create the look of your blog. Again, all of these sites offer free, easy templates to use in creating your first blog. WordPress generally has the most professional-looking blog templates, but they can also be hard to customize.

Once you’ve decided on a template, it’s time to start writing. Most people just blog about their lives and interests so their friends and family can read them. But you can also pick an area that you are enthusiastic about and choose to blog about that one, single topic. Pick something that you are passionate and knowledgeable about, write informatively and creatively, and soon you’ll have plenty of regular readers.
