Pizza is a favorite food for kids and adults. Pizza night can be a weekly ritual at your house. If you make the recipes yourself it allows you to customize the food to stay within your budget and use what you already have. This is also great for picky eaters because everyone can choose their own toppings.
Depending on the prep time, you can use the idea of pizza for any meal. A breakfast pizza can use an English muffin instead of dough. Then, mix and match pizza toppings like tomato sauce with breakfast favorites such as ham or bacon. You can also use pita bread as a crust substitute for lunch.
A dessert pizza is something that kids and adults can enjoy. Start out with a cookie crust and roll it into a large circle. Then, you can use whipped topping or cream cheese for the sauce. You can just glaze the pizza with a fruit spread or try a less realistic looking cinnamon version. Find fruit that replicates traditional pizza toppings by using strawberries instead of tomatoes. You can also just pile on your favorite fruit like pineapple or kiwi.
Healthy Toppings
Pizza doesn’t have to be in the junk food category. You can cut back on the cheese and substitute a whole wheat crust. You can also get a low moisture or low fat cheese. Then, pile on the vegetables instead of the meat. This includes basic peppers, mushrooms, and onions, but you can take it a step further. You can even add corn on top of a grilled pizza or try spinach.
Preparation
Pizza can even be appropriate for dinner parties if you just upgrade the preparation. Try using a pizza stone or make a stuffed pizza that has a crust on the top. You can even grill the pizza for a different take on outdoor cooking.
Yay, summer’s heat is getting intense each day and all we can do is to stay cool by not exposing ourselves in the sun for too long. We are also advised to drink lots of fluids because we always sweat a lot, water can replenish the lost liquid in our bodies. Taking a bath every day is also a must to keep us fresh, it’s too humid and hot not to do this anyway.
Aside from that we are also accustomed in eating summer coolers that we all want. Forget about your weight loss products for a while because some of the summer coolers are definitely sweet. Halo-halo (mixed fruits with ice shavings, milk and sugar) is the no. fave of Pinoys, mais or saging -con-yelo (corn or banana with ice, milk and sugar as well), sago gulaman, ice cream and lots more. Sweet but delicious aren’t they? Just don’t overload yourself with these.
