I remember during my younger days, my grandfather always has a dog or even a cat that he takes care in their house. It serves as his companion while going in the woods and when he’s resting after work. Sure looked they had a great bonding time every time I see them. In our household, my mom didn’t like the idea of having any pets around for she hates cleaning their mess and taking care of them. I can’t blame her because owning a pet really requires a big responsibility.
Would you believe that it’s only early last year that my brother decided to buy a cute dog? It was a crossbreed between a Schitzu and a Daschund and we named her Sophie. Eventhough mom didn’t approve it, bro still got one. Now she is so playful and became so beautiful and I decided that I’ll be the one to take care of her since bro became so busy. My mom also learned to love her and appreciates how nice it is to have a pet dog. I always bring Sophie to the Vet for her injections and checkup and even bought her some dog supplies as well. She is the love of my life and she always brings a smile and happiness to me every day.

Sentinel for Dogs: Protection from Fleas and Parasites
Anyone that has ever had a pet knows that dogs are prone to many health conditions. These include many common ailments that affect humans, but also comprise problems related to fleas and infections such as heartworm, roundworm or whipworm. These infections can easily be prevented with sentinel for dogs, a flavored tablet that can be ingested and prevents heartworm disease and flea infestation.
The tablet can also remove roundworm in adult dogs, as well as whipworm in both adult dogs and puppies. Whipworm lives in the intestine, while roundworm can reside in the heart or lungs. They are very dangerous and are extremely infectious parasites that can even affect humans in the case of unsanitary conditions. Heartworm may not be detectable for many months following the initial infection. It is not until the parasite matures that symptoms occur, which range from a cough early on and can progress to fainting and congestive heart failure.
To prevent all of this, a simple tablet can be prescribed by a veterinarian. This flavored tablet is available in different packages depending on the size of the dog. There are usually six or 12 tablets in each package, and one tablet is administered once a month to the animal. The tablets must be taken continuously to be effective because, in the case of fleas, dogs often are repeatedly exposed to environments where fleas are prevalent.
Even if it is prescribed, read all of the instructions on administering the tablet; even go online and do your research. Some formulations may not be safe for dogs under a certain body weight and below a certain age. Make sure you are aware of potential side effects and contact your veterinarian if any of these occur. With heartworm infections, symptoms such as vomiting, salivation and lethargy can result from dead or dying parasites.
