Volunteers
Children are scrutinized and judged as children. We sometimes forget about the potential they have as adults which is molded by environment, adult guidance and opportunities along the way.
It is these formative years that are most crucial in shaping and developing character and attitude. In many cases, children are left to fend for themselves with no family support or fall through the cracks of our social safety net.
To quote Hillary Clinton:“we have learned that to raise a happy, healthy and hopeful child, it takes a family, it takes teachers, it takes clergy, it takes business people, it takes community leaders, it takes those who protect our health and safety, it takes all of us.
Yes, it takes a village.”
Everyone of us is a member of that village and can make a difference in a child’s life.
It can be as simple as volunteering or financially supporting one of the many not-for-profit organizations struggling to cope with the overwhelming need to help children at risk. Your engagement can make all the difference in a child’s life.
I hope you will take the time to look at the Children @ Risk newsletter. It is designed to inform and inspire you to get involved in small or big ways. Your involvement will reward you in ways never imagined. Those rewards will last a lifetime.
Thank you for taking the time to care enough to make a difference.
